• since 2015 – head of the Department of Forensic Science of the Institute of Law of the People's Friendship University of Russia;
• 2010–2021 – director of the RFCFS of the Russian Ministry of Justice;
• since 2002 – full member of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI);
• 1993–2010 – head of the Northwestern Regional Center of Forensic Science of the Russian Ministry of Justice (before 1995 – Leningrad Central Research Laboratory of Forensic Science – LCRLFS);
• 1986–1993 – deputy head of LCRLFS;
• 1984–1986 – head of the Research Coordination Office, CLRLFS;
• 1980 –1984 – senior research associate, LCRLFS;
• 1979–1980 – research assistant, LCRLFS.

Academic background:

• since 2015 – head of the joint PFUR–RFCFS dissertation board awarding degrees in criminalistics; forensic expert practice; law enforcement operations (academic discipline code 12.00.12);
• since 2006 – professor;
• 2002 – Doctor of Law;
• 1977 – PhD in Chemistry;
• 1973 – graduated from the Chemistry Department of the Leningrad State University (currently known as SPbU).
