THE USE OF POLYMER CLAYS (THERMOPLASTIC POLYMERS) IN FORENSIC TRACE EVIDENCE AND MARKINGS ANALYSIS
Abstract
The paper discusses the use of polymer clays for casting in forensic trace evidence and markings examinations, and outlines their possible applications and advantages compared with traditionally used materials (plaster, plasticine). Examples of chemical compositions for several brands of polymer clay are also included.
